The competent crew course prepares you to skipper a yacht in light to medium wind conditions in enclosed waters with the assistance of crew of similar sailing experience. Yachting Australia requires that you have accrued 10 days on board, 200 miles logged and 4 hours night watch keeping before the certificate is issued. Therefore you will require some experience before commencing this course.

If you would like to reach this level and you are starting as a beginner, consider our competent crew package. The level of instruction in the competent crew course is more advanced than that of the introductory course, paying greater attention to technique and the mechanics of boat speed.

The course is run over a weekend from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm (subject to change) both days (weekday courses can also be arranged) during which we cover all the areas of the Yachting Australian Syllabus which is detailed opposite. Contact Us
